We recommend opening the route maps in the Ordnance Survey app. It's free to use without a subscription, or you can access lots of useful additional features with the paid version. The live location tracking makes it really easy to find your way and children can navigate themselves too. If you don't have the app, you can open our routes in your browser.

About us

We are lucky enough to live in the beautiful Calder Valley in West Yorkshire, with woods, hills and moorland on our doorstep.Pre-kids, we did loads of walking, climbing and adventures - locally and further afield. As our family grew, we adapted and found ways to carry-on the outdoor adventures with our children. As babes in slings. Starting to toddle on their own little legs. Doing a mix of the two, and gradually walking more and more themselves.Walking is great for physical health, connection with nature and mental health. As a family, we find that getting outside together is a welcome change of scene from being at home - and reduces the feelings of parental overwhelm!Using the Ordnance Survey app and social media, we share our favourite local walks for others to enjoy, along with tips and ideas for getting outdoors, exploring nature with young children, wherever you are.Our routes are all tried and tested by our family, short distances, but interesting and fun kid-friendly walks. We have also produced and sell Explorer Packs, which are aimed at kids and include a Log Book to record your adventures and track your distance, and stickers and a medal to celebrate your efforts. We use these ourselves and they've been a great way to gamify walks and motivate our kids.Order your Explorer Pack here.Join us on Facebook and Instagram for regular updates and to let us know how you get on - we love hearing your stories and feedback.
